Like most teenagers, I could often be spotted with a camera in my youth, the difference was, you would seldom see me posing with my friends making cheesy faces, instead I would wonder the halls of my high school searching for tiny nueonces.

When it came time for college I was faced with the huge decision of what to study. My local community college had a very well known and accredited photographic technology program, so being a firm believer in enjoying what you do and doing what you enjoy, I decided to enroll.

It was there that my love for photographs blossomed, where it was merely an interest, a crush if you will, in the past, it was now full blown infatuation, soon to be an obsession.

A family member helped me along by purchasing my first slr, a canon rebel 2000, it got much use, and was later upgraded to a canon elan IIe, I learned a lot about not only photography as a whole, but myself, and where I stood in the world of photography in the many classes I attended at that school.

I was one of those that swore I could never give up film, digital had no use as anything more than a backup, then in 2004, after canon released their first entry level digital slr (something remotely in my price range) I sold my former equipment and scrounged up the money to get the original canon digital rebel (300D), immediately I was in love. Being a victim of severe migraines, the darkroom proved to not always be the ideal place for me, finally I found a solution, and it wasnt a huge creepy gas mask.

Now I am 27, and have two wonderful little girls (who often fall victim to my lens) as well as a wonderfully supportive husband, in addition to newer/more capable equipment. I strive to grow as a photographer every day, as with any art I dont believe one can ever reach their full potential, but it is my goal to get as close as possible.
